Grace
Lutheran Conroe has called Rev. Lorin Darst,
presently serving St. Paul Lutheran in Davenport
, Iowa. Pastor Darst’s first Sunday at Grace Lutheran Conroe
will be August 10, one service at 10:00 a.m.
in the Sanctuary with a brunch in the Family Life Center to follow.
Rev. Darst, originally from Oregon, received
his Master of Divinity from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus,
Ohio. He was called to serve as a pastor at St. Paul Lutheran where
he participated in a Pastoral Residency program funded by the Lilly
Endowment . This program provides a stimulating environment for gifted
pastors as they sharpen their pastoral skills, habits, and practices.
Pastor
Lorin and wife, Tiffany, will be moving to the Conroe
area around August 1 and are very excited about becoming a part of
this growing, vibrant, area of Texas. Quoting Pastor Darst, “Tiffany
and I are brimming with excitement as we join this congregation that
exudes hospitality, lives a spirit of generosity and service, and
grounds its life in the unstoppable love and grace of Jesus Christ”.
Grace Lutheran welcomes the community
to worship with them any Sunday, with a special invitation to join
them on August 10 in welcoming the Rev. Darst and Tiffany to our community.

to Grace"
Grace
Lutheran Conroe's new pastor, Rev. Lorin Darst and wife
Tiffany will be on vacation a couple of weeks before coming
to their new home at Lake Conroe around August 1. Pastor
Lorin is excited about his Call to Grace and the Grace
Transition Team is working with all MINISTRY GROUPS, BIBLE
STUDY GROUPS, AND SMALL GROUP STUDY GROUPS to set up times
for meeting as many of our Grace members as possible in
August and September. The first Sunday Rev. Darst will
be preaching will be August 10, one service at 10:00.
in the Grace Sanctuary with a brunch following in the
Family Life Center. Members who want to bring cards of
welcome or gift cards to the Darsts may place them in
the boxes in the Call Informations Centers in the Sanctuary
and in the Family Life Center. The Worship and Music Team
is planning a special service for this NEW BEGINNING AT
GRACE and we urge you to invite family and friends to
attend this service to welcome Lorin and Tiffany to our
Grace Community.
On Sunday, July 27, at 10:00 between services, there will
be a FAREWELL RECEPTION for Pastor Cliff Akerman and Intern
Nancy Simpson in the Fellowship Hall. If you would like
to bring cards or notes to Pastor Cliff and Nancy there
will be a basket at the Reception Desk on July 27th.
We have been so BLESSED to have these two people in ministry
at Grace this past year and we wll want to express out
thanks to them at this special time.
