Grace Call Committee Update

The Call Committee continues its mission in the search for a permanent pastor for Grace. The same week Grace Executive Committee was preparing to issue a Call to a candidate unanimously selected by the committee the candidate accepted a call to Pennsylvania for which the candidate had interviewed.

The committee received seven additional candidate profiles and perhaps will receive another this week. Interview dates for phone and personal interviews are being scheduled for April and May. The goal is to finish this set of interviews by the first week of June.

The committee continues to a ask for guidance from the Holy Spirit and prayers from our Grace members.

Grace Call Committee Update

Grace Call Committee has unanimously selected a candidate out of the seven that were interviewed. The candidate has asked that the call committee allow him and his wife until April 18th to prayerfully consider our ministry at Grace. If at that time the pastor accepts the call to Grace the Executive Council will begin to work immediately with the pastor on the Call Agreement and Council approval. A reception for the candidate to meet the congregation will be scheduled and a congregational meeting held to allow members to vote on the acceptance of the recommended candidate. If for any reason the call process is not culminated the committee will aggressively continue to work through the process to call a pastor for Grace Lutheran Church Conroe. The Call Committee asks for your continued prayers, support, and patience as we move toward our goal.

Grace Call Committee met November 12 and conducted a PRACTICE INTERVIEW with Rev. Robert Moore, senior pastor of Christ the King Lutheran in Houston. This session helped the members sharpen their questioning skills and was critiqued by an experienced pastor.

Chairman Otis Haarmeyer thanked the visiting pastor and the committee members for their long hours and hard work in the sub-committees. The results will be better PERSONAL INTERVIEWS with the candidates for the Grace Call with a goal of refining the match with our CONGREGATIONAL SURVEY information. Chairman Haarmeyer stated that we will be receiving the first names of candidates from the synod within the next two weeks. Please keep the Call Committee member in your prayers.
