Amigos(as) of our Companion Synod in Peru, We have been working hard to
bring you good news. Our projects in Peru are GROWING by leaps and bounds
because of YOU! So, this weekend, we have worked hard on improving for
you the “Peru Projects” for the TX-LA Global Mission Gulf
Coast web site at:
http://www.globalmissiongulfcoast.org/projects_peru.htm
Many things
have been updated and hopefully improved. The Peru Projects in the past
consisted of only one page. Today as you visit, it consists of SIX PROJECT
pages. Yahooooooooo, we are growing. This information is now ready for
you to take to your churches and present the “GOOD NEWS!”
Below I list some of the pertinent changes for you to use:
The six new
project pages are as follows:
- Future
Seekers page – now ready for sponsors for the 2008 school year:
There will be 8 churches to sponsor this year.
All donated money will be directed to the Tx-La Synod office.
Last year WE sent 159 children to school that would not have gone.
In 2008, I hope we can DOUBLE that number and we hope that our vision
of increase is WAY TOO SMALL!
Vacation Bible School page – this year we had over 500 children
attending, next year the moon. I would like all of you to know who is
responsible for this GREAT venture. Her name is Amy Flannery. I would
ask each of you to pray a special blessing for her and her family.
- Medical
page – provides info on AIDS or SIDA as it is known in Peru and
how we are starting to obtain help from an organization of Doctors in
Houston (Peruvian American Medical Society -PAMS). Over 25 doctors from
Memorial Herman and MD Anderson Hospitals make from 2 to 3 trips to
Peru to provide medical help each year. Dr. Luis Campos, a heart surgeon
at Herman Memorial Hospital in Houston heads up, Operation San Andres
(OAS). Now they are aware of us and want to help. Currently, they are
giving vitamins to all of the children of Emanuel Lutheran Church for
a full year. And, we want to help them also!
- Homes
page – illustrates examples of how to build new homes for people
in Peru and provides illustrations of how Living Word and Shepherd of
the Woods Lutheran Church of Florida are doing it.
- Jobs –
this page deals with how to create income for the people in our churches
in Peru. See especially:
New professional sewing machines and Loom. A special thanks goes to
“Richard and Olga Germer” of Living Word for making this
happen
- El Jarrito
de Peru – A proposed Mexican Restaurant to provide jobs. Gil Leon
will be sending receipts of his food to Luz Divina
Misc Projects – Breakfast specials, playgrounds and NEW………
proposed calendar with photos of our wonderful children from the churches
of Peru.
So, we end
with the Name of Him, Jesucristo, who makes this venture one of continual
excitement and says His Words never return empty, Juanito (Gringo name
is John Warner) and Miguilito (Gringo name is Mike Roberts) Potential
“busboys” at the new El Jarrito de Peru in Marquez, Peru.
Know that we love tips!
